While the runway showcases what’s coming next into fashion, the streets not only display the future but also what’s on trend currently. We have curated a list of trends that you’d love to experiment with this summer!
Get in on these summer fashion trends right now and you’ll look super cool and stylish, just sayin’ 🤷🏻♀️
Tie-dye was as dead as the dodo. But now it has reborn all thanks to Prada, Stella McCartney, Schouler, R13. It has been a huge trend this season as it has a hippy vibe to it along with a feminine touch to it. Not to forget, Queen Bee wore it on her holiday and Justin Bieber to a church. A lot of other celebrities have been spotted endorsing this trend. We are totally digging in this trend. Are you?
Bike shorts caused quite a stir last summer. KKW started wearing bike shorts as ‘real pants’. Later, top notch designer brands like Prada, Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi, Roberto Cavalli too approved of bike shorts trend by showcasing them on their runways. Kar-Jenners, Hadid sisters, Emily Ratajkowski, Kaia Gerber, Katy Perry and a lot of leading ladies have been a fan of bike shorts and so are we. Streetwear, workwear, couture, workout wear bike shorts have covered it all. The bike shorts are a versatile and a new must have piece in your wardrobe if you’re someone who worships fashion like we do.
“Puff shoulder is the new off shoulder.”
While last year’s puff sleeves were largely seen on cotton, prairie-style blouses and white cotton tops with sweetheart necklines, 2019 sees the puff migrate to comfortably and confidently sit, cloud-like, on the shoulders of everything from jumpers and cardigans to ‘out-out’ cocktail dresses and even jumpsuits and tailoring. Moreover, Puff shoulder gives a very bold, powerful and a sumptuous look. Puff sleeves are fast becoming the only sleeve style worth knowing for summer.
Leopard print, snakeskin, crocodile print, tiger print, zebra print…they’re all back with a boom! Real furs may be falling out of style now, but wearing prints inspired by animals isn’t going anywhere. From realistic recreations of animal skins to loosely-inspired-by-versions in a range of vibrant colours like hot pink, yellow, neon green and purple, brands like Off-White, Kate Spade, Gucci, Tom Ford, Roberto Cavalli and Marc Jacobs are exploring their wild side.
(PS: Our favourite posh girl Victoria Beckham is a fond of animal prints too!)
Giorgio Armani, Azzaro, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Prabal Gurung, Coach, Long Champ, Ralph & Russo and a lot of other top-notch designers are a fan of fringes and so are we (issa mood). How can one ever get over it? Can you ever go wrong with it? NEVER. Fringes are urbane, jaunty, sumptuous and our personal favourite trend. Going for a dinner? A date? Cocktails? Weddings? Or something casual? Fringes have got your back babe!
The SS19 saw a lot of retro trends re-emerge. Neon is one of ‘em. Fluorescent shades already had hit the fashion scene last year when KKW wore it. But, who thought that neon would be more than just a mere Instagram trend? Designers confidently championed a lot of lime green, binding yellow, extra hot pink and flame orange.
Ladies, get ready for your wardrobe to shine brighter than sun.
“There is never a wrong time for a polka dot”. – Marc Jacobs
Polka dots are a timeless classic that we always enjoy seeing on runways and on people too. Probably it’s because they take us back to the ‘50s elegance and unforgettable icons like Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe. Polka dots reflects a classic, playful and a childish vibe. Polka dots are totally stealing the show always.
Crochet clothes hit the high-fashion scene when Oscar de le Renta, Micheal Kors and 3.1 Phillip Lim displayed crochet pieces on their runways. From provocative open weaves to knitted pullovers, the effect is slightly bohemian, and infinitely cooler than the ones in your grandma’s closet. Crochet has become a ‘Must-have resort wear’ now.
Mixed print is a trend approved by Anna Wintour. Stylists weren’t shy to mix prints and patterns together in outfits, SS19 saw some serious power clashing. Mixing patterns is the coolest things RN in fashion. Once you know to mix patterns the right way, you’re gonna love this trend more than anything else.
UTILITARY/ BOILER SUITS
Boiler suits have been showing up everywhere, from runways to street style (personal fav style). Gone are the days where boiler suits were only used by the workers in factories. So before another morning flies by in a what-top-to-pair-with-what-pants frenzy, take a breath and let boiler suits do the work for you.
